Theory of condensed matter physics & statistical physics

There are a number of interesting phenomena in condensed matter physics. We are particularly interested in novel properties of strongly correlated electron systems. In addition to standard methods such as perturbation expansion, numerical methods (DMRG, exact diagonalization, etc), we use field-theoretic approaches (CFT, Bethe ansatz, etc) to clarify the role of electron correlations in a wide variety of quantum systems.

Superfluid-Mott insulator transition of fermionic atoms in optical lattices
Dynamical responses and critical phenomena in low dimesional quantum spin systems
Correlated electron systems with randomness
